Step Out of the Boat If You Want to Walk on Water

1.- Freedom to engage in an area of your own choice rather than following a curriculum designed by another. Each one of us has a distinctive, God-given blend of talents and gifts that need to be exploited individually.

2.- Freedom to pick your mentor and enjoy one-on-one attention from him or her. This is the way kings were educated! Throughout history the tutorial education method has forged great men and women.

3.- Freedom to design your own schedule. Imagine yourself getting up in the morning. No running, no stress. You can sit in front of your computer in your pyjamas, sipping a cup of coffee while you study out your favorite subject!

4.- Freedom to delve into the subject of your choice with passion and joy. There are no limits as to what you can learn once you are enraptured with your own learning process. Education will never be boring again.

5.- Freedom to gain a level of excellence. After a season of studying and developing your skills and talents, you will be an expert and people will come to you for help.

6.- Freedom to pursue God’s plan for your life. Have you ever wondered if that dream that comes to your mind every now and then, is really from God? Maybe it is time to seriously pursue it!

7.- Eventually self-directed learning will lead you to financial freedom. Your passion can become your career!

Some of us are called to be a mother of five who is silently pouring her life into her offspring. Others have the calling of an evangelist who travels around the world and wins millions of souls for the kingdom of God. Whichever it is, you have an assignment to accomplish on this planet.

We have all been created with a unique combination of gifts and talents to fulfill this assignment. And these talents need to be developed and exploited to successfully walk in God’s perfect plan.

The truth is that one day we will all stand before our Lord and we will have to give an account about what we have done with our gifts and talents on planet earth during our short stay here.

I’m not getting melodramatic. And I don’t want to poke fingers at you and make you feel bad about what you are doing or not doing. I want to help you stay focused on what really matters.

In our hurry, hurry world nowadays, all of us can easily get carried away by myriads of distractions instead of doing what God has specially designed us for.

With all the pressure we are exposed to daily, our minds will tend to focus more on providing for the immediate circumstances that surround us. That’s okay as long as provision doesn’t become your main goal in life.

No matter what happens, we should strive to always keep our eyes on our God-given assignment instead.

The wonderful thing about the plan of God for our life, is that it is always the best alternative to go for. No other option can provide us with the abundant fruit and the accomplishment of a fulfilled life than obediently walking in His unique design for our existence.

That is why it is of uttermost importance that we:

• De-clutter our life of unnecessary distractions
• Peal away all the damaging influences we are surrounded by
• Aggressively pursue an education that will develop our distinctive skills and talents
• And keep our eyes focused on the one and only important thing:

One day we will stand before Jesus and He’ll say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

All of us have an area of interest we are passionate about.

As soon as we are done with our regular job and have a chunk of free time, off we run to do “our thing.”

Unless you are one of the few lucky ones who are working in what they love to do, most people will displace their passion for “later,” that famous and undetermined little word…that will steal our dreams. Granted. Mistakes are ugly. We don’t want to have a lot of them around.

But are they really that detrimental to our lives?

Human beings are not perfect, therefore they are prone to commit mistakes continually.

Then why do some people seem to be so successful, and others don’t? Do they make less mistakes?

No, they don’t. Successful people make a lot of mistakes.

Everybody needs a hero. Somebody we can admire and look up to. Somebody who inspires us to achieve greatness. Somebody who embodies what we would like to be like one day. Who sets the standards of what we call perfection.

There’s not a lot of them around. The requirements for being a hero are extremely high.

He has to be endowed with great strength and ability.

He has to be worthy of limitless admiration for his achievements and qualities.

He has to be fearless, show great courage, and be daring.

He has to have an impressive presence.

He always wins, he never loses.

His name must be legendary. He must be known worldwide and throughout the generations. At the sound of his name his enemies shall tremble and his admirers will shout with joy, knowing that, once again, he will be victorious.

He has to have given his life for a good cause, to save the lives of many from an evil power. The more lives he dies for, the greater the hero.

He has to be the ultimate example of greatness and perfection for his followers.

The only person who meets all of these requirements is Jesus of Nazareth. He is my hero.

Let us take a stand for what we believe in, and step up to the place where God intended us to be.

Let us be brutally honest with ourselves, and assess where we are at, find out where we’ve missed it, and make the necessary changes to develop our God-given talents.

Let us de-clutter our life from unnecessary things, and ask God for wisdom to (more…)

My son has a turtle. He got her for his birthday about five years ago, and she came in a little aquarium. She was really tiny and cute back then.

As time went by she started to grow, and soon we had to purchase a bigger aquarium. Of course, she kept on growing. So today, and 3 aquariums later, she is living in a huge plastic tub.

Somewhere along the way I started to get worried. Pictures of giant turtles crawling around our house were starting to haunt my mind.

So finally we did some researching , and found out that these turtles could really get huge, but, if you limited their living space, they would stop growing.

How interesting. I had never heard of something like that. Until I realized that this phenomenon is not that uncommon at all.
