I can absolutely identify with you. We all feel frustrated when we are struggling in an area of our life. I also have many areas I still need to improve on. Maybe I can help you with 2 steps that helped me be victorious in areas I've struggled in:

1.- I studied the Bible and read every verse that said I was free from any bondage. I complemented it with books written by victorious Christians who taught me the real power we have access to as Christians. You can find great resources at www.kcm.org Kenneth Copeland had a great struggle with overweight, but he overcame. Another great resource you can download for free right now, and that has helped me immensely in the area of controlling my flesh is here:

2.- Don't ever allow the devil to condemn you. He is the one who wants you to feel defeated, because he knows how dangerous you will be once you realize that you are not. There is no place in the Word of God where it says that God condemns us, on the contrary, Jesus explicitly states that He did NOT come to condemn the world (John 3:17). Start seeing yourself how God sees you: as an overcomer, a winner, a son of the Living God. To Him you are precious, fashioned for greatness, endued with power to overcome any situation. You might look into the mirror and not like what you see, but tell that image: "You are an overcomer, a child of God, part of the winning team." God does not understand the language of defeat. He and His children are winners. Period. No matter what circumstances say.

As a committed Christian I desire to please the Lord in every area of my life. However I am very overweight and feel powerless to change it. I have prayed over and over again with no victory in this area of my life.I am hoping that these techniques can help change my mindset so I can achieve my goal of being self controlled in this area of my life. How can I testify to Gods power to overcome sin in anothers life when I have no victory myself as an example? Please help
