Walk in Your Destiny: 3 Barriers Between You and the Plan of God for Your Life
No time to read the Bible or fellowship with God
Sometimes in our hurry-hurry busy lives, there is no time to stop, wait and listen to what God has to say. A person who does not cultivate a daily relationship with God and doesn’t take time to read and study His Word, cannot receive instructions from Him.
If Jesus Himself would come into your house one day to talk to you, I’m sure you wouldn’t ignore Him and ask Him to please wait a while until you get all your things done. You’d probably be so impressed by the honor of having Him come to you, that you’d forget about everything else.
The Bible states that He is living in you right now and that you can confidently come into His presence whenever you wish. Just because you cannot feel Him or see Him doesn’t mean He is not there.
Wanting to do it your way:
Many believers tend to hold on to what their idea about living the Christian walk is. They want to serve God, but they want to do it their way. And as long as they insist on their way of doing things, there’s not much God can do for them.
It is when we give up on our efforts and surrender to Him, willing to serve Him in whatever He needs us to do for Him, that He will start moving on our behalf. It is only then that we can become all God created us to be.
Impatience:
Some of us are so eager about the awesome plan God has put in our heart, that we get anxious when things don’t seem to happen. We are like little children who are on a trip, always asking, “Are we there yet?”
God is a God of process. He sees our hearts. There are many things He has to accomplish in us, especially in our character, before He will show us the next step. An obedient heart that obeys instantly will advance faster than an impatient heart that is tired of waiting.
