The problem is it also keeps us in bondage to our current situation and we cannot become what Jesus died for us to be: victorious over every circumstance in life.

If you want to be victorious in life, I want you to know that you are already more than a conqueror, according to Romans 8:37.

You do not have to fight another war, Jesus did it for you!

You might say, “Then why don’t I feel victorious, Bettina?”

It doesn’t have anything to do with your feelings.

Let’s take the following example:

Have you ever been stopped by a policeman? I bet you stopped your car immediately the moment he ushered you to the roadside!

Could the policeman have stopped the car by his own strength? No.

What if he felt bad that day, could he still have stopped your car? Yes.

Why? Because he has been given authority–delegated power–over the traffic.

In the same way Jesus has given you authority over bad circumstances in your life. Just as the policeman does not go running to the president to ask him to stop the car, you should not go running to God with all your problems.

God has already done all He is going to do about the devil. He sent Jesus and Jesus triumphed over him.

You can walk in that victory today and never ever again be a victim in your life!

“Behold I give you the authority to trample on…all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19)

It is essential to every human being to identify his or her area of brilliance and to differentiate it from their areas of weakness, because it is that strength that will ultimately bring us the greatest rewards in life.

The problem is that, if we never grasp what our true talents and skills really are, we will wander through life aimlessly, always feeling as if we were in the wrong place, at the wrong time and engaged in the wrong activity.

Our educational system doesn’t help a lot either. On the contrary, it teaches its students to focus on their weak spots in the name of a well-rounded education.

This kind of education produces an individual who knows a lot about many areas of life, but

 is only capable of achieving at an average level in everything. It majors on the minors and doesn’t further the specific talents each person possesses.

Sadly, it also has robbed countless people of experiencing the fulfillment and success that comes from excelling in what they are good at.

But it is never too late! It doesn’t matter how old you are or how many years you have been roaming through life without a definite purpose, your unique talents are still there. And they still have the potential to produce abundant fruit for your life and that of others.

How do you identify your talents?

It is really very simple. Just ask yourself:

1. What you do effortlessly?

2. What are you good at that others find difficult?

3. In what area do others always recur to you for help? 

If you are having trouble answering these questions, don’t worry, that is normal. You are just one more expert who is not conscious of his or her expertise.

Most people aren’t. Their strengths come so easily to them that they cannot imagine that someone else might be struggling in that same area and would be grateful, even willing to pay a lot of money, for their help.

Maybe if you start seeing it from this angle it will be easier for you to pinpoint your God-given strength.

Search for it with all your heart, and, once you’ve found it, focus on it and develop it to its maximum potential. It will take a lifetime to do that.

Don’t let anything else distract you, because that is the area in which you were meant to be brilliant in.

One of the most important inspirational books for businessmen, “Think and Grow Rich,” a classic written by Napoleon Hill, is based on training your mind to think correctly,–and has helped countless nobodies achieve tremendous success in life.

Isn’t that amazing? It really works!

Although this seems like some kind of a new fad based on recent scientific discoveries, the Bible talks a lot about how our thought patterns affect the very outcome of our lives.

It is a law established by God. Proverbs 23:7 states that as a man thinks, so is he. Additionally, many scriptures of the New Testament exhort believers to renew or to transform their minds. It also talks about putting on the new man.

Changing our negative and fearful thought patterns is really not that difficult. God would never ask us to do something we cannot accomplish. He has already prepared a masterful battle plan for us.

But it requires diligence. If you have accumulated wrong thinking patterns throughout your whole life, you cannot expect them to change overnight. But you can overcome them with persistence.

Here are 3 steps you can follow to overcome your stinking thinking forever and finally step out into the fulfilled life God wants you to have:

1.- Find your seed

After praying and asking God for His wisdom, research the Word of God in the area you are most struggling in. Let’s say: finances. In the concordance, which is in the back of most Bibles, search out all the verses that talk about money, riches, wealth, prosperity, blessing, etc

God´s Word is not just ink on paper, it has power. You will find several verses that will talk to your heart.  Write them down in a notebook.

You can also find verses in this inexpensive little book from Charles Capps.

2.- Plant your seed in your brain

Read them out loud to yourself at least three times a day. If you can, memorize them and meditate on them throughout your day.

3.- Weed your garden all day every day

Just like weeds, bad thoughts will come up in your brain by themselves. So, every time an ANT wants to crawl into your brain, you confront it with a GRANT (Godly Removal of Automatic Negative Thinking)

Oh, and remember…

“May your meditation be sweet to Him, may you be glad in the Lord.” (Psalm 104:34)

A neat little resource is this tiny book from Charles Capps called “God’s Creative Power.” It is jam-packed with verses of victory in all areas of life.

In the last few weeks we have talked about how God has a plan for us and that His intention is that our life may be a joyful and fulfilled experience on this earth.

Then why do so many of us still struggle with life? Why does life seem so hard and why are our basic needs of provision, joy and peace in God hardly met?

If you are one of those who want to believe God for more but doesn’t know how to get out of the situation you are in, welcome to the crowd. The vast majority of believers are in your situation.

They live a life that is way below the level that God has intended for them.

Why? Does Christianity not work? Why is it so hard to live the victorious life?

The truth is that God is not Santa Claus. He won’t come into your life and dump the victorious life on your lap.

And even if He would do it, you probably would not be able to maintain it if your mind is not renewed.

We as Christians have to realize that when we are born again, it is our spirit that is renewed, but we still have a mind that is polluted with our old way of thinking and we still live in a body which has acquired bad habits and wrong appetites from our former life.

That is why the Bible talks so much about renewing our mind (Romans 12:1,2) and putting off the old man (Colossians 3:9,10).

And this requires a conscious effort.

It requires the diligence and the determination to not only hear the Word of God, but also to put it into practice in our lives as the Spirit guides us with God’s wisdom and gives us the grace to overcome.

Remember that the Holy Spirit is your helper. He will empower you to change your life, but He will not do it for you.

Ouch! This truth hurts, Bettina.

Yes, and I’m sharing it with you because it is my hearts desire to see you happy and fulfilled in all you do.

If you want to walk in the freedom Jesus bought for you, you will have to take action and start making changes in your life.

Once you embrace this truth and start walking in it, your life will dramatically change and slowly but surely everything else will start falling into place.

Oh, and remember…

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2)

Most of the time fear hovers in our subconscious mind and has the power of controlling our life. If not dealt with, it will always hold us in bondage and never allow us to walk in God’s plan for our lives.

Fear can show its ugly head in many different ways. There is fear of poverty, fear of criticism, fear of illness and old age, of losing a loved one and ultimately the fear of death.

The best way of getting a grip on fear is by understanding how it operates. Fear is a kind of faith, but it is a twisted faith. It has an evil origin.

We have to realize that there are two forces operating on earth: a good one and a bad one. The Bible speaks of two kingdoms, one is the kingdom of light and the other is the kingdom of darkness.

The kingdom of light operates by faith. The only way to access it and to receive from this kingdom is by faith. Jesus said, “Nothing is impossible to him who believes.”

On the other hand, the kingdom of darkness operates by fear. Fear operates just like faith does. Whenever it is released, it will bring evil to pass.

Whenever a person chooses not to believe in good and decides to consider the bad options, the kingdom of evil will manifest.

Now why do we fear instead of having faith?

Mainly out of ignorance. We have listened to the wrong voices and have filled our head with the wrong information. God said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6)

So, whenever they have to make any decision, they act out of fear and not out of faith.

The problem is that if you are governed by fear, you will never have the courage and the faith to step out and walk in what God has for you.

You might say, “But I don’t have a strong faith!” That is easy to solve! Romans 8:17 says that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

It is when you feed yourself with the Word of God—the good information–that faith will rise up in your heart and you will be able to overcome those feelings of fear and firmly step out with the absolute conviction that nothing can stand between you and success.  

Anybody who wants to live a successful life will have to take time to meditate on his or her life’s purpose.

You will not find it by logical reasoning or in a good education. Your purpose is always in your heart in the form of a dream. God Himself put that dream there and created you with a unique combination of gifts and talents to make it come true with His help and guidance.

The problem is that too many different voices are surrounding us and confusing us. If we are not aware of these potential roadblocks to our success, we will come to regret it one day.

Provision Mindset

For one thing, society dictates that your number one goal should always be providing for your basic needs.

While this is a powerful reason to choose your life’s occupation, it will never provide the fulfillment you would receive if you were walking in your life’s purpose.

Peer pressure

Another powerful influence in our lives is peer pressure. Most of us do a lot of “right” things just to please friends and family. This is especially true if our dreams are very different to what is acceptable to our culture.

If you build your life around what others deem important without considering God’s plan for your life, you will end up deeply frustrated, because you never did what you were created to do.

Lack of Faith

This is probably the most important reason many people don’t achieve success in their life. True faith in God will always focus on the vision instead of all the impossibilities.

It will provide the necessary strength and wisdom to keep on pressing when the going gets tough.

It might be a financial breakthrough, a weight loss program, or even the desire to improve your relationship with others. But you will not be successful if you are not aware of the pitfalls most people encounter when it comes to making major changes in their life.

Here are three of the most common mistakes people make when they want to make a change in their life:

Lack of vision

The first thing you need when you want to step out higher is a clear picture of where you want to go. You cannot jump into a major endeavor just because you feel good about it.

After a while the good feeling will be gone, especially when the first difficulties start showing up. You cannot implement a consistent change in your life based on feelings or hunches.

You need a clear vision of where you want to go. This will keep you going when the going gets tough

No Change of Mindset

Most people launch into an endeavor full of enthusiasm without considering their thought patterns. They ignore that our life is governed by our way of thinking.

The truth is we are what we are as a direct result of the mindset we have acquired throughout our whole life.

There is no way your life will change if you don’t start changing your thought life first. Otherwise your old way of thinking will constantly pull you back into your old lifestyle.

The most powerful way to change a negative and fearful mindset into a vibrant and positive mindset is the Word of God. It has the power to transform your thought patterns to such a degree that you will not doubt that victory is yours whenever you face a new challenge in life.

Trying to Accomplish Change by Your “Self”

There is such an abundance of information about self help nowadays because most people choose to confront obstacles in their life by “Doing it My Way,” as that famous song declares.

Nevertheless, human beings were not designed to bear the burden of life’s challenges on their own shoulders. They were created by a loving God who is more than willing to take them by the hand and walk them through the whole process with His strength, His grace, His wisdom and His empowerment.
