self-directed learning mindsetThoughts can be treacherous. They sneak into our mind and take over our whole life before we even notice. Like little seemingly inoffensive bugs they start crawling into our mind.

Sometimes they make so much sense that we just let them in, unaware of the huge damage they are about to cause to the pursuit of our new life changing endeavor.

They can get so strong that we choose to abort our project altogether.

5 Ways to Escape the Negative Mindset Trap

Feed on God’s Word.

Nothing is more powerful to change our negative mindset of doubt and unbelief into a vibrant spiritual force for victory than the Word of God. Read it, study it and determine to make it the final authority over your life. What the Word says over you and your situation is what you’ll meditate on. Dismiss any other thought that violates God’s Truth.

Walk by faith and not by sight.

Refuse to let outer circumstances convince you that God’s Word over your life is not true. God said you are more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37), and that’s that.

Meditate on God’s Word all day long.

Pick out one or two verses from the Bible that hold a promise of God over your situation and keep your mind fixed on them.

Cast your care on the Lord.

Whenever feelings of anxiety show up, cast your care on the Lord and stop meditating on what the devil can do to you.

Confess the Word of God all day long.

This is a powerful tool. God designed our mind so that we can not think one thing and say another. So the best way to get negative thoughts out of your mind is by talking words that are in agreement with what God has decreed.
