How Can I Find God’s Purpose For My Life?

god's plan“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8)

The only way to find out is by drawing near to Him. Although it is God’s deepest desire to become part of your life, He will only get involved in your life if you invite Him.

Now, who wouldn’t want to share his or her life with the kindest being in the universe?

The best place to be for any of us is being is in the middle of God’s plan for our life! That is when you are in the right place, at the right time, with the right people and with enough provision to accomplish your purpose.

Actually, that is the only place you will ever experience fulfillment and success in, because you were created to be there! You were designed with a unique combination of gifts and talents to fulfill a specific purpose while you are here on earth!

Any other plan you might have in your life will never satisfy you, because, sooner or later, God’s plan will be tugging at your heart and you will feel deep dissatisfaction.

Nevertheless, there are a number of obstacles between you and the wonderful life God has prepared for you. And they are not on His side.

How can we surmount the obstacles that lie between us and the awesome life He has planned for us?

Contact God

First of all, we have to contact Him. We have to slow down, change direction and search for Him. He promises to always come to those who search for Him with all their heart (Jeremiah 29:13).

Learn About God

Second, we have to learn about Him. God has a much higher way of thinking than we have, and He wants to teach us to think that way. Failure, lack, worry and defeat are not a part of His vocabulary, and He doesn´t want it to be part of yours! The best way to renew your mind to God’s way of thinking is by reading His Word and by hearing anointed messages about Him!

Spend Time with God

The third step is to spend time with Him daily. Just like in any friendship, you have to invest time and effort to get to know God intimately. It is only then that God will reveal His secrets to you.

May Your Will Be Done, God?

God's will for meIs prayer really a hit or miss way of communicating with God?

Contrary to what many Christians believe, prayers should always be answered. There is not one prayer in the Bible that God ignored, and Jesus said, “Whatever you ask of God in My name, you shall receive.”

Then why are so many prayers seemingly left unanswered? Why do most believers hope that God will hear them instead of having the absolute assurance that He will?

Both of these problems stem from lack of knowledge.

1.- Not knowing God well

Just like a biological son may not know his father well, we as believers may not know our heavenly Father well.

If God is a person you fear because you think He’ll whack you on the head every time you do something wrong, you will not have the confidence of asking Him in faith. And faithless prayers are not answered, it is only by faith that we can please God and believe that He is the rewarder of those who seek Him diligently.

When we know God and are assured about His mercy and love for us, we can approach Him confidently, as a beloved son would do, and make the requests we need to make.

2.- Not knowing His will for each of our lives and how to pray according to it

Prayers should always be done with the certainty of His will for our lives. Once we know His will, we can approach Him boldly and talk to Him about it.

One of the most abused prayers is the “but may Your will be done” prayer. Some people pray that phrase ignorantly in any prayer they ever utter.

The only time that phrase was ever prayed in the Bible was when Jesus prayed it in Gethsemane. He knew the will of God, but He didn’t want to obey it. It was a prayer of consecration: a prayer that showed His willingness to ignore His own flesh and do the will of God instead of his own.

Jesus prayed this prayer three times that night and so should we pray it often throughout our day when we struggle with doing the will of God in our lives, like forgiving someone or showing love to our enemies.

But you cannot pray a prayer of faith this way!

Prayers are like ball games. They are all played with balls, but they have different rules. Just as you cannot play soccer with baseball rules, you cannot pray a prayer of faith with the guidelines of a prayer of consecration.

The prayer of faith must be preceded by Bible study. You have to be convinced that what you are asking for is really God’s will and firmly believe it. Once you are sure it is God’s will for you to have what you ask, then you go before Him and ask, but only once (and please don’t pray “but may Your will be done,” like in the prayer of consecration, you already know God’s will).

After that you just thank Him every time the issue comes up. You have already made your petition and now you know with all your heart that He will answer!

Oh, and remember…

“This is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him” (1 John 5:14, 15)

Negative Thoughts – 3 Guaranteed Steps to Getting Rid of Your Stinking Thinking

Ξ May 5th, 2009 | → 1 Comments | ∇ Educate for Freedom, self-improvement: Success |

negative thoughtsOne of the most important inspirational books for businessmen, “Think and Grow Rich,” a classic written by Napoleon Hill, is based on training your mind to think correctly,–and has helped countless nobodies achieve tremendous success in life.

Isn’t that amazing? It really works!

Although this seems like some kind of a new fad based on recent scientific discoveries, the Bible talks a lot about how our thought patterns affect the very outcome of our lives.

It is a law established by God. Proverbs 23:7 states that as a man thinks, so is he. Additionally, many scriptures of the New Testament exhort believers to renew or to transform their minds. It also talks about putting on the new man.

Changing our negative and fearful thought patterns is really not that difficult. God would never ask us to do something we cannot accomplish. He has already prepared a masterful battle plan for us.

But it requires diligence. If you have accumulated wrong thinking patterns throughout your whole life, you cannot expect them to change overnight. But you can overcome them with persistence.

Here are 3 steps you can follow to overcome your stinking thinking forever and finally step out into the fulfilled life God wants you to have:

1.- Find your seed

After praying and asking God for His wisdom, research the Word of God in the area you are most struggling in. Let’s say: finances. In the concordance, which is in the back of most Bibles, search out all the verses that talk about money, riches, wealth, prosperity, blessing, etc

God´s Word is not just ink on paper, it has power. You will find several verses that will talk to your heart.  Write them down in a notebook.

You can also find verses in this inexpensive little book from Charles Capps.

2.- Plant your seed in your brain

Read them out loud to yourself at least three times a day. If you can, memorize them and meditate on them throughout your day.

3.- Weed your garden all day every day

Just like weeds, bad thoughts will come up in your brain by themselves. So, every time an ANT wants to crawl into your brain, you confront it with a GRANT (Godly Removal of Automatic Negative Thinking)

Oh, and remember…

“May your meditation be sweet to Him, may you be glad in the Lord.” (Psalm 104:34)
