Step #1Watch out what you are thinking. Proverbs 23:7 says, “As a man thinks, so is he.” If you are entertaining thoughts of failure and defeat in your mind, then you are opening the doors for those things to really happen. Be very aggressive about protecting your thought life. Take time every day to fill your brain with messages of hope and faith from the Bible.

Step #2Don’t be led by what you feel. Feelings are good and inevitable, but we should not be led by them. Jesus had strong emotions, but He never acted on them. He was led by the Holy Spirit.
Step #3 Keep focused on your goal. When you started out on your project, you had a goal in mind and you were enthusiastic about reaching it. Once the hardships set in and your goals seem almost impossible to achieve, they tend to get blurry and we can easily give up on them.

In my years of struggling to reach the promises of God in the Bile, I found that the biggst obstacle to overcoming failure and defeat were bad thoughts that seemed to come out of nowhere and just pop up in my mind.
If I was not careful, they could come to dominate my mind and undermine my efforts of strengthening my faith to receive from God.
That is why the Bible talks a lot about renewing our mind. Our mind is not born again. If we don’t renew its old patterns of thinking, it will make important life decisions based on experience, human reasoning and logical thinking and bad news from the world, instead of the Truth of God’s Word.
The only way to get rid of these bad thoughts is by confessing the Word of God over them.
I want to help you in this process by sharing with you my favorite Bible verses I have used and confessed over my own life.
