There is Peace in God´s Plan, It Can Even Save Your Life

As you might know already, I live in Chile, a country who was assailed by the worst earthquake known in modern times.

That day was almost 1.000 km away from my home town to assist a Christian conference. I was sleeping in one room with two of my children in the tenth floor of my sister’s department. At 3:30 AM everything started shaking around us. Things came crashing down beside me and my children were terrified. They had never been in an earthquake before.

I want to share with you from my personal experience what I felt and did during the whole endless 90 seconds of trembling.

I had peace, and lots of it. Although I knew this supernatural peace was from God, it surprised me. My automatic reaction was that I talked to the earthquake just as Jesus talked to the storms on the seas of Galilea. No fear.

I did not experience any fear because I had the absolute certainty that I was in the middle of God’s will for my life, the safest place any human can ever live in. God had told me to attend this conference 6 months ago. I knew that His protection was all over me and my children.

My boldness affected my children and soon they were not afraid anymore. All the lights had gone out, so I told them to sleep quietly and that we’d clean up the mess next morning. And all three of us slept peacefully until daylight came.

Another minister who had gone to the same conference was awakened by the Holy Spirit and was told to leave the house with all his family. Minutes later a whole wall crashed right on their bed and would have crushed them had they been there.

Why am I telling you this? Because I want you to realize how important it is to live in God’s plan for our lives and to have a heart to hear from Him all day, every day. As you see, it can even save your life.

It breaks my heart to see Christians who don’t know God, they only know abut Him. So today I want to encourage you and exhort you:

If you have given your life to Jesus, He lives in you. He yearns to talk to you and to help you live according to His exceeding and abundant plans for your life! Don’t let another day pass without searching for Him with all your heart!

Oh, and remember…

“A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.” (Psalm 91:7)

This verse came true for me on the 27th of February 2010. God is so good! It is true for everybody who knows Him too!

How to Get Clarity for the Plan of God in Your Life

Ξ March 16th, 2010 | → 2 Comments | ∇ Educate for Freedom, Self-improvement:Spiritual |

gods plan for my lifeUsually people have trouble when they try to figure out God’s plan,  because they get too complicated about it. It’s really very simple. God is not going to design a perfect plan for your life and then abandon you to figure it out by yourself.

No, He wants you to find out what it’s all about and passionately yearns to be part of it, because His plan is so huge you would never be able to walk it out on your own. It is exceedingly and abundantly above anything you could think of!

Nevertheless there are 3 issues that will keep you in darkness about His plan. If you don’t deal with them, you won’t have the clarity you need to walk out the awesome blueprint He has already designed for your life.

Condemnation:

If you are focusing on all the bad stuff in your life you will not be able to hear from God, because of your conscience. Even though it is very hard for human nature to understand, we have to come to the point of realizing what Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross really did for us.

The book of Hebrews says He dealt with the bad stuff in our life once and for all. If you commit a mistake, don’t cry over it for three years. Go to the throne of mercy, repent and get on with your life. There is not enough time to ponder on all our mistakes!

Cowardice:

Do you have trouble confessing your faith or stepping out for God? Then you are probably dealing with cowardice.

The good news is that we don’t have to be bold by our own strength, He is the one who makes us bold by His Spirit.

Peter was a coward who denied Jesus three times, but when the Spirit of God came upon Him in Pentecost (Acts, Chapter 2), he boldly preached a sermon and 3,000 people were converted.

You are not walking alone in His plan for you. God is with you, loving you, caring for you and giving you the wisdom to proceed.

Contrariness:

If there is something in you that is not totally submitted to God, but is pulling you in another direction, it will be an obstacle for you. God will not make you walk in His plan. He is a gentleman.

That is why the Bible says: “Many are called but few are chosen.” Whether you are chosen or not only depends on you, not God. It requires total submission to God to walk in His plan.

Once you realize that your petty plans for your life are not nearly as exciting and wonderful as His, you will not rebel against His plan.

Oh, and remember…
“And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings.” (Acts 17:26)
