It is so easy to play the victim and blame the circumstances around us when things don’t go well. That takes the responsibility off our shoulders and frees us from taking action.

The problem is it also keeps us in bondage to our current situation and we cannot become what Jesus died for us to be: victorious over every circumstance in life.

If you want to be victorious in life, I want you to know that you are already more than a conqueror, according to Romans 8:37.

You do not have to fight another war, Jesus did it for you!

You might say, “Then why don’t I feel victorious, Bettina?”

It doesn’t have anything to do with your feelings.

Let’s take the following example:

Have you ever been stopped by a policeman? I bet you stopped your car immediately the moment he ushered you to the roadside!

Could the policeman have stopped the car by his own strength? No.

What if he felt bad that day, could he still have stopped your car? Yes.

Why? Because he has been given authority–delegated power–over the traffic.

In the same way Jesus has given you authority over bad circumstances in your life. Just as the policeman does not go running to the president to ask him to stop the car, you should not go running to God with all your problems.

God has already done all He is going to do about the devil. He sent Jesus and Jesus triumphed over him.

You can walk in that victory today and never ever again be a victim in your life!

Oh and remember…

“Behold I give you the authority to trample on…all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19)

G.F.I.

Go For It! Walk in your authority today!

And every time I make a decision when the pressure is on I miss it!

We are not supposed to make important decisions when we feel pressured (unless it’s a life or death situation).

For one thing, sometimes we will decide just anything to get rid of the pressure.

But, more important than that, we will not be able to listen from God.

You see, God does not use fear or anxiety to lead us. He will always lead us with peace, even under exasperating circumstances.

Jesus was pressured a lot by the religious people of His age. They always tried to trick Him into situations that would give them the right to accuse Him of blasphemy.

One day they took a woman to him who had committed adultery. Under their law she was doomed to be stoned and die for her sin. But they knew that Jesus was going to have trouble with this issue. After all, He preached about love and forgiveness, two concepts they were not very familiar with.

So they confronted Him with their two options:

A) Either she has to be stoned to make justice

B) Or you declare her free with your “love message” and you violate the law of Moses.

Pretty tricky situation, huh?

But Jesus did not hurry to answer them. He knelt down and started drawing in the sand. Waiting, listening to God.

His adversaries were dumbfounded, they never expected that!

After a wile Jesus came up with His glorious option C): “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” (John 8:3)

His opponents had no other choice. One by one they disappeared and the woman’s life was saved.

Next time you feel pressured with an option A) or B), kneel down in the sand and listen to God!

He will always have an option C) for you!

Oh, and remember…
“Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart” (Psalms 27:14)

G.F.I.
Go For It!

My daily duties seemed to have come to the point of overwhelming me and there was no promise of it ever changing, no rest in sight for the near future. Slowly but surely I was losing my joy.

My joy in the Lord, my joy in my Salvation. Yes, even my joy for living. Life had become a never ending drudge.

Thank God we have the Master living in us and faithfully guiding us at all times.

He led me to a verse I had read a thousand times, yet God’s Word never loses the power to surprise us as if it were the first time we read it.

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Mattew 11:28-30)

Maybe after reading this verse you had the same reaction I had: sometimes in life it is almost impossible to picture an easy yoke on your shoulders.

It was then when enlightement came. From my daughter, bless her precious heart.

She shared with me from a sermon she had heard:

“Mother, we are to be human beings not human doings!”

That struck a chord in my heart. So often we forget that we are not alone, abandonded to live our life by our own strength as fallen man.

There is a strength that is part of our life, so intricately woven into each instant of our day, that we cannot–and should not–try to live without it.

It is God’s grace, His empowerment, His supernatural blessing He bestows on each and every one of His children.

To live the abundant life Jesus died for us to have.

Are you tired today?

Stop trying to do, just be…

A joyful child of God marked with a blessing, a supernatural power to succeed.

Oh, and remember…
“The Lord is your shepherd, you shall not want. He makes you to lie down in green pastures; He leads you beside the still waters. He restores your soul.” (Psalms 23: 1, 2)

G.F.I.
Go For It! Don’t let anybody or any circumstance steal your God-given joy!

Maybe you have been tormented by these questions:

What exactly is the plan of God for my life?

How can I hear from God 24/7?

Am I in His will right now?

How can I get rid of things in my life that are not His will for me?

If we yield to the uncertainty of all these questions, it is easy to become frustrateded and afraid of missing God’s perfect plan for our lives.

The solution to these feelings of insecurity is simpler than you think.

If you are a sincere believer who is willing to flow with God’s plan for your life and not your own agenda, it’s really not difficult to walk in God’s plan.

Just study the life of the apostle Paul. There is no doubt he heard from God and walked according to God’s directions. Yet we read in the book of Acts that he planned to go to certain places and “were forbidden” by the Spirit of God to do it.

In these few words we can find a key to always being in God’s will for our lives. Paul was always on the move for the kingdom of God. He had surrendered his will totally to that of God. So, he was constantly making plans to walk in his calling of an apostle for Jesus Christ.

Yet some of those plans were never accomplished, because they were his plans, not God’s for his life. God intervened on time and directed him right back to His perfect will.

What can we learn from this?

First of all, that nothing can really go wrong if we are willing to serve god and not ourselves.

Second, we have to be on the move, actively seeking opportunities to walk in our calling with the ultimate purpose of furthering God’s kingdom. You cannot drive a parked car.

Third, if you miss God’s plan, His Holy Spirit will let you know and graciously lead you back to God’s plan for your life.

Oh, and remember…

“Those who are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God” (Romans 8:14)

G.F.I.

Go For It! Turn on the engine and start moving your parked car!

Dear Bettina,

I cried out to God in my darkest hour and He sent you, with a Torch in your hand!

I read your book “Know Your Destiny” in a few hours. I was so overwhelmed by the love, wisdom and absolute desire to see God’s children succeed, poured out so generously into every word and into my heart! All through the reading, I sent “God bless yous” because your book is an uplifting blessing in a fallen and lost world.

I have read a lot of books over the years, but your book stands out because it is so self-less and so God-filled. A Divine Inspiration, anointed and simple to read, it is ram-packed with loving and practical advice from someone who has been there, and written for someone who is ready to step out and dream big.. A fountain of hope has welled up within and your words have given me new vision, courage, insight and revelation.

That day was almost 1.000 km away from my home town to assist a Christian conference. I was sleeping in one room with two of my children in the tenth floor of my sister’s department. At 3:30 AM everything started shaking around us. Things came crashing down beside me and my children were terrified. They had never been in an earthquake before.

I want to share with you from my personal experience what I felt and did during the whole endless 90 seconds of trembling.

I had peace, and lots of it. Although I knew this supernatural peace was from God, it surprised me. My automatic reaction was that I talked to the earthquake just as Jesus talked to the storms on the seas of Galilea. No fear.

I did not experience any fear because I had the absolute certainty that I was in the middle of God’s will for my life, the safest place any human can ever live in. God had told me to attend this conference 6 months ago. I knew that His protection was all over me and my children.

My boldness affected my children and soon they were not afraid anymore. All the lights had gone out, so I told them to sleep quietly and that we’d clean up the mess next morning. And all three of us slept peacefully until daylight came.

Another minister who had gone to the same conference was awakened by the Holy Spirit and was told to leave the house with all his family. Minutes later a whole wall crashed right on their bed and would have crushed them had they been there.

Why am I telling you this? Because I want you to realize how important it is to live in God’s plan for our lives and to have a heart to hear from Him all day, every day. As you see, it can even save your life.

It breaks my heart to see Christians who don’t know God, they only know abut Him. So today I want to encourage you and exhort you:

If you have given your life to Jesus, He lives in you. He yearns to talk to you and to help you live according to His exceeding and abundant plans for your life!

Oh, and remember…

“A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.” (Psalm 91:7)

This verse came true for me on the 27th of February 2010. God is so good! It is true for everybody who knows Him too!

It’s really very simple. God is not going to design a perfect plan for your life and then abandon you to figure it out by yourself.

Some people are eternal students. They love learning and they are constantly on the pursuit of something new to find out.

Although inquisitiveness is always beneficial, these people are perpetually acquiring new knowledge, because they believe that someday somehow they will have success when they really come to know everything.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Getting the knowledge about something is only half the recipe to success. We have to take action and apply that new knowledge to our lives. That’s the key.

Here are 5 reasons why people don’t take action and how to overcome them:

1. Fear of failure

Our society dictates that failures are bad, so there is a whole generation of people who don’t dare taking action, just in case they fail. Successful people, on the other hand, know that failures are stepping stones to success.

2. Comfort

People don’t want to leave their comfort zone. Comfort is great, but also boring on the long run. We should challenge ourselves to step out of our comfort zone every day.

3. Low Self-Esteem

Many people follow others because they don’t find value in themselves. They can accept that others might be successful in life, but not them. That’s why they don’t even try to take action. They don’t believe they will accomplish very much.

Each one of us is endued with a unique combination of talents and gifts. God created every human being as special and He certainly does not create failures. We create them in our minds.

4. Lack of Determination

Then there is always the impulsive person who doesn’t hesitate to take action, but then gives up when the going gets tough. Don’t be a quitter. When things get tough we should be like bulldogs: just sink your teeth in deeper and don’t ever let go!

5. Procrastination

Then there is always the classical procrastinator. Of course he will take action, but tomorrow, not now. Leaving things for tomorrow is a bad habit that can easily be overcome. Like a famous sports commercial says: Just Do It!

Besides, after spending so much time with Him, He taught me to love the way He loves: unconditionally.

Yes, it makes a world of difference.

The Bible even states that life and death are in the power of the tongue. (Proverbs 18:21)

You see, we have to understand how this works. Day in and day out we are bombarded with bad news from the world around us. Even though we are not aware of it, this produces negative thinking in our minds.

These thoughts come to our mind automatically, we cannot help thinking them.

But we can choose to receive them or not. At this point we can still analyze the information and decide if we accept it or not.

Now, you cannot drive bad thoughts out of your brain by forcing yourself to think good thoughts. It won’t work.

And this is where the tongue comes in.

The only way you can either drive out bad thoughts or accept them is by using your tongue.

A person who is facing a challenging situation could start vocalizing his fears. In this case, he or she will be talking death. The battle is already lost even before it started, because the tongue has programmed this person for failure. He or she has chosen to accept those thoughts and gave birth to them the moment he or she confessed them with their tongue.

The good news is that, just as the tongue is powerful to kill and destroy, it is also powerful to edify and succeed. As a matter of fact, that is what it was designed for in the first place!

God, our Creator, gave us this powerful tool to set our faith in motion. Faith is believing without seeing. So, if you encounter a challenging situation in life, you talk God´s promises over that thing instead of confessing your fears and negative thoughts.

By doing this, you will have set this most powerful mechanism in motion and the outcome of your endeavors will be of victory, not defeat.

Oh, and remember…
“Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit.”(Psalms 34:13)
