Sloppiness and mediocrity have invaded this world to such a degree that we’ve almost reached the point of accepting them as normal.
The truth is we all have a certain amount of problems in laziness and procrastination.
Have you ever been tempted to put things off? “Just once” and “not yet” are deceptive words. They are potential destiny killers.
Compromise and procrastination will keep you from ever fulfilling the purpose of your life. You’ll never get to where God intends you to be if you don’t confront issues in your life you’d rather choose to overlook.
Do you want to get with the program and become a “now” person? Here are seven tips that will help you tackle the deceptive procrastination monster:
- Obey your conscience. Be sensitive to what you feel is right and act upon it no matter what. Determine to do what’s right because it’s right, not because of what you can get out of it.
- Realize that the more you move when God tells you to move the happier you’ll be. There’s nothing worse than feeling you’ve got countless projects laying around.
- Change your passive attitude, just go for it and start now. You can have so much more in this life if you are willing to invest.
- Boldly face those situations in your life that you have to deal with. It may be an unhealthy relationship, a messy checkbook or even something as simple as an untidy closet. It’s the little foxes that spoil the vine. Don’t open the door and allow these messes in your life.
- Keep away from people who want you to compromise. Maybe there are people in your life who are manipulating or controlling you, and you haven’t had the courage to confront them. These same people will turn their back on you when you give in to them. You might be alone for a while, but others will respect you, because you’ve demonstrated integrity and commitment.
- Don’t look at all the mess in your life all at once. Confront the trouble areas one by one. All your messes are not going to get straightened out overnight. If you keep tackling it one project at a time, day after day, you will overcome that seemingly insurmountable mountain of unfinished projects.
- Although you feel challenged, deal with it. It looks greater than what it really is. Once you are on your way out of the mess, you’ll start experiencing victory and that will propel you forward towards the finishing line.
The Bottom Line is: Nothing will change if you don’t make a change. And I want to invite you to discover how to tap into God’s limitless power to make consistent changes in your life.
