Step Out of the Boat If You Want to Walk on Water

Every one of us has a singular combination of God-given talents that distinguish us from the rest of the crowd. You can find the genius God placed within you, develop it with self-directed learning, and be who you were created to be.

Dare to write your own script. Discover your strength, augment it, and then find out how you can add value to the world around you. Then it will add value to your life. That is what you are here for!

If you are not sure what you would like to learn about, or what your unique gifts and talents are, ask yourself the following questions:

1. Search your heart. There’s a dream in there…and it is probably one that is impossible for you to accomplish on your own! God can only be glorified when we live a life that is not possible to achieve by mere human effort.

2. If you had a block of free time of, let’s say 2 or 3 hours, and the TV or the computer were not an option, what would you like to do? Don’t limit yourself to what you could do. If there were no limits, what would you do?

3. Try to remember your childhood interests. Little children have a very natural way of developing their God-given bents. What did you like to do most? What did you want to be once you were going to be an adult?

4. It would also be helpful to ask other people who know you well. Close friends and family members can help you identify what you are good at.
