Setting Priorities the Biblical Way: How Big is Your Pond? Part III

Whom are you listening to?
Throughout your whole life you have been exposed to good and bad information. This knowledge has framed your mind-set. It has made you think the way you think today, and is determining the decisions you are making for your tomorrow.
It is easy to tell what is in your mind by listening to what comes out of your mouth. Are you an inspiring person to be around with? Or are you poor-mouthed and shallow?
What are the people that surround you daily telling you? Are your friends always talking about how broke they are, and how tired they are with their work? Or do you feel inspired to step out and do something useful after you have been with them?
Who is your mentor? Is he or she an inspiring role model? Somebody who challenges you to develop your talents, and to get better every day? Or are they telling you you’ll never amount to anything?
What voices are you exposing yourself to? The media, the bad news, the frivolities of life? Or the Good News, the absolute Truth of the Word of God?
Your preacher. Does he teach you about the abundant life Jesus bought for you? Or is he beating you over the head with the Bible telling you that we are all unworthy sinners saved by grace? And that you have to make an effort to be right with God, because He is mad at you?
You are not right with God because of what you do, but because of what Jesus did. It is time that we realize that God’s abundant blessings are within our reach already. Jesus redeemed us from the curse 2000 years ago. Before exhaling His last breath, He said: “It is done.”
