Our comfort zone can get extremely cozy when it comes to living our daily routine. We really don’t want anybody to budge us out of there.

My son has a water turtle. She was tiny and came in a cute little aquarium when he got her five years ago. But soon she started growing and we thought she might need more room.

What is true success about anyway? The picture of a successful person the news media tries to sell us is that of a good looking young business man, or woman, who are enthusiastically waving their briefcase while they are off to work with a huge smile on their face.
In God’s eyes this is a very poor view compared to what He has in mind for us. The Bible says that “the blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow to it.”(Proverbs10:22)
God wants us to have a huge smile on our face while we are about to pull off yet another successful endeavor, and He wants to abundantly bless our finances too. But for Him it doesn’t stop there. He has greater plans for our lives.
Human apathy is one of the worst attitudes towards life there is. It leads us to a spiritless state of mind that just languidly accepts living day in and day out without ever expecting anything to change for the better.
When we come to this point we accept life as a lackluster sequence of unattractive, but necessary events, with hopefully a few gratifying moments in between. Worries, problems, and disillusions take their toll on our daily walk and nudge us, in a very subtle way, towards a stagnant existence of listless detachment.
Is your life like a yo-yo? Do you dread the alarm clock ringing on Monday, or are you barely dragging yourself out of bed on Friday? If this describes your life, then boy do I have good news for you!
It doesn’t have to be that way. You were created to experience a constant increase in all areas of your life ’til the end of your days. And you were definitely not designed to live a roller coaster life of tricky victory followed by inevitable defeat.
Jesus invited all of us who are tired and weary to follow Him, and learn His ways, because His yoke is easy, and His burden is light!
